Taj Al-Muluk (Crown of Kings Dessert)

Taj Al-Muluk is one of the most famous Syrian desserts. It can be prepared in different ways and with different fillings, but it mainly depends on sugar syrup.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of rose water

Filling Ingredients:

  • 1 can of cream
  • 3 cups of crushed pistachios
  • 1 cup of crushed almonds
  • 1 cup of crushed cashews

Preparation:

  1. Put the water and sugar in a medium pot on the stove and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Add the lemon juice and leave the mixture for 10 minutes until it becomes sugar syrup.
  3. Let the syrup cool, then add the pistachios and the rest of the nuts. Mix well until you get a dough that is easy to shape.
  4. Grease cupcake molds with butter, then put some of the mixture into them.
  5. Make a hole in the middle and fill it with a little cream.
  6. Leave the molds in the refrigerator for two hours until they become firm.
